Healthy Heads encourages industry to ask, "Are you OK?"

Healthy Heads encourages industry to ask, "Are you OK?" - No qualifications needed

Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds (Healthy Heads) is once again joining forces with R U OK? to ensure that everyone working across the road transport, warehousing, and logistics industries has the tools and confidence to meaningfully connect with their friends and colleagues and genuinely ask, “Are you OK?”

This year’s R U OK? in Trucks & Sheds Industry Day of Action takes place on May 6 and will continue to embrace the theme: “Ask R U OK? – No qualifications needed”. The purpose of this theme is to reinforce the fact that you don’t need to be a qualified counsellor to ask someone if they’re struggling.

Healthy Heads CEO Naomi Frauenfelder is excited to continue this partnership with R U OK?

This marks our fourth year running R U OK? in Trucks & Sheds with R U OK?,” said Ms. Frauenfelder.

"We're excited to bring back this Industry Day of Action, encouraging the industry to share resources and spread the message, while also reminding everyone that, although May 6 prompts us to ask 'R U OK?', meaningful conversations should continue throughout the year."

To support this important cause, Healthy Heads has launched new and updated free resources available at healthyheads.org.au/ruok/. These resources are designed to help individuals and organisations plan and promote their own R U OK? in Trucks & Sheds events, share crucial information about mental health awareness, and encourage participation in this Industry Day of Action.

In addition to the resources, individuals and businesses can also register to become Company Champions, who receive key campaign updates, tools, and support to ensure their events run smoothly. Being a Company Champion also gives organisations and team members a direct opportunity to engage with their colleagues, reduce stigma, and help cultivate a culture of support within their workplace.

“We want people to understand that they don’t need to be experts to start a conversation about mental health,” added Frauenfelder. “Sometimes, just asking, ‘are you OK?’ can make all the difference.”

Whether you're an individual or part of a larger organisation, now is the time to get involved.

Download the updated resources from the R U OK? in Trucks & Sheds page, register as a Company Champion, and start planning your own event to support the Industry Day of Action on May 6, 2025.

Together we can create more supportive, connected, and psychologically safe road transport, warehousing, and logistics industries.
